Mynydd Mawr is a ‘serene’ area known for its tranquility and peace, crisscrossed by footpaths and bridleways offering a haven for getting closer to nature with all the benefits that it provides.

Two of the more important long distance trails that go through the proposed development are:
The Upper Ceriog Trail, a 13-mile multi use track – bridleway /footpath/bike - through rugged and exposed terrain.
St Melangell's Way. A peaceful pilgrims trail through Wales' stunning landscapes from Shrewsbury Abbey to Pennant Melangell. A place of pilgrimage for nearly 1000 years.

Mynydd Mawr itself also contains two designated Open Access/Open Country areas, that provides for public access on foot, under the CRoW act.
